Entry into the Bachelor of Social Work Part Two, Three or Four - Te urunga ki te Paetahi Tauwhiro W膩hanga 2, 3, 4 r膩nei

Fill out this form if you intend to enrol in Part Two, Three or Four of the Bachelor of Social Work.

Entry requirements

To enrol in Part Two, Three or Four of the Bachelor of Social Work, you need to:

  • meet the New Zealand Social Workers Registration Board鈥檚 requirements for registration
  • be suitable to work as a social worker under the Vulnerable Children鈥檚 Act 2014.

To enrol in Part Two, you also need to have passed at least 75 credits.

To enrol in Part Three or Four, you need to:

  • have passed all the compulsory requirements of the previous parts of the programme, or have approval from the Academic Board to enrol
  • have been admitted to Part Three or Four by a selection process approved by the Head of School
  • hold a current full driver鈥檚 licence (students with disabilities will receive special consideration).

You may also be required to attend an interview with academic staff or a Bachelor of Social Work programme coordinator.

If your eligibility changes, including any conviction or pending criminal charges, please advise the BSW Coordinator within seven days.

A police check will be conducted if you enrol in 179355: Field Education I or 179455: Field Education II.

For distance learning students, there are compulsory contact components for 179310, 179320, 179330, 179355, 179410, 179420, 279401, 179455 and 179440. If you don鈥檛 attend these compulsory components, you will not pass the course.

Note that the Criminal Records Act, also known as the Clean Slate Legislation, does not apply to social workers.
