Dr Sharyn Heaton (Kai Tahu, Ng膩ti Apa ki te R膩 T艒, Rangit膩ne ki Wairau, Mu膩奴poko, Te Arawa) has over 30 years’ experience as a M膩ori teacher educator, focused on m膩tauranga M膩ori, Hauora, Te Reo M膩ori and P奴taiao. She has a particular interest in the provision of Initial Teacher Education with an emphasis on professional practice, the learning and teaching of the M膩ori language and the integration of m膩tauranga M膩ori into educational contexts. Sharyn is involved in education policy, indigenous curriculum development and NCEA assessment.
