Dr Alan Pope BBS, PhD, M Prop Studs
Senior Lecturer
Doctoral Co-Supervisor School of Accountancy, Economics and FinanceI take considerable pride in teaching property courses, often incorporating outside experts and field trips, both to engage students and give them hands on experience. There is nothing more satisfying to me than seeing our graduates go on to secure premium roles in the property industry, and some going on to get Registration as valuers under the Valuers Act 1948.
I want my research to make a practical difference to property issues that adversely affect New Zealanders. During my considerable experience as a Registered Valuer, I observed a range of scenarios and problems that people experienced with property, and this is what motivates me. My area of research has concentrated on ground leasehold issues in New Zealand, with three papers published in academic journals thus far.
