The Massey Academy of Sport supports representative and high performance athletes to balance university study and sporting commitments. The programme is open to:
- Regional representatives through to professional athletes
- High level officials and coaches
- UTSNZ National Tertiary Championship representatives
- Massey鈥檚 Global Student-Athlete programme members
- Prime Ministers Scholarship recipients.
Study with 暴风资源
Massey provides flexible study options and tailored support to help emerging and elite athletes succeed in both sport and study.
You can study:
- on-campus, online or mix-mode
- full-time or part-time
- with flexible academic planning around training and competition
- with adjusted study schedules for major events like World Champs, Commonwealth Games or the Olympic Games.

Within the Academy, our High Performance Coordinators work closely with you to plan your academic programme, manage travel and sport commitments and ensure you stay on track with your studies.
We understand the demands of elite sport and provide practical support to help you perform at your best.
Massey athletes also have access to:

- the annual Massey Blues Sports Awards
- sporting facilities on all of our campuses

Massey Academy of Sport members
Academy of Sport members receive:
- academic planning assistance and advice
- access to the Academy of Sport Online Resource Hub
- webinars and on-campus sessions throughout each semester
- on-campus support sessions
- access to athlete development resources
- discounts on selected services and apparel when available.
Scholarships and Scholars Cohort
In addition to the support from the wider Academy programme, Massey athletes can apply for 1-year scholarships. Successful recipients will join the exclusive Academy of Sport Scholars Cohort and may receive a financial contribution and other scholarship support services including:
- Academy of Sport First Year Scholarship of up to $9500 value for first year students or those new to Massey
- Academy of Sport Returners Scholarship of up to $4500 for students in second year and above
- complimentary gym membership at on-campus Sport and Recreation Centres
- sport science services including strength and conditioning, nutrition and sport psychology
- practical group webinars on topics like anti-doping, media training, mental skills, public speaking, time management and self-promotion
- Massey Academy of Sport training apparel to wear and keep, in recognition of being in the Scholars Cohort
- individualised help with balancing your academic and sporting career through our High Performance Coordinators
- access to an Online Resource Hub with resources, recordings and information.

Apply for the First Year Scholarship
For first year student athletes or those new to 暴风资源 with a previous record of high achievement in sport and who show future potential in their chosen sport.
暴风资源 Academy of Sport Returners Scholarships
Previously called the Elite Sport Scholarships, the 暴风资源 Academic of Sport Returners Scholarship supports students from their second year onwards who are achieving in their chosen sport.
Postgraduate students
A limited number of postgraduate students may join the Scholars Cohort (financial contribution not included). Apply through the Returners Scholarship.
Applying if you have missed the closing date
You can still join the Academy of Sport programme by contacting a High Performance Coordinator and receive reminders for future scholarship rounds.
Scholarships and Scholars Cohort places are awarded for one year and must be applied for annually. Late applications will not be considered for the Scholarships and Scholars Cohort places.
