Massey's Real Estate Analysis Unit (REAU) is an academic-led research centre.

About the Real Estate Analysis Unit

The REAU provides cutting-edge academic consultancy project work for public, private, not-for-profit and partnership projects.

Our staff are actively researching in a range of property-related topics such as:

  • property economics, markets and policy
  • property investment and finance
  • property valuation
  • property management and development
  • residential (housing) property
  • commercial property
  • urban and rural property.

Home Affordability Report

The REAU produces a quarterly report outlining the changes in home affordability throughout New Zealand.

NZ Residential Rental Survey

The REAU produces a quarterly survey focusing on changes in the New Zealand residential rental market.

NZ Commercial Property Monitor

The PCNZ/RICS commercial report outlines the latest conditions in NZ commercial property occupier and investor markets. The report is supported by Massey's REAU and The Property Foundation.

Professor of Property Studies

Bob鈥檚 research interests include real estate and land economics, rural valuations, valuing for rating and taxation, subdivisions, computer assisted valuations, government role in housing markets, analysis of leasehold government office accommodation. Private sector rental housing market.

Senior Lecturer in Property

Arshad鈥檚 research interests include Real Estate Development and Management, Property Evaluation, Portfolio Investment, Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), Sustainability and Value Management, Zero Carbon Building, Construction Health and Safety, Building Information Modelling (BIM), and Prefabricated Pre finished Volumetric Construction (PPVC).

Dr David White

PhD, BBS
Lecturer in Property

Dr David White is a Lecturer in Property at Massey and Senior Consultant at Colliers International.

He has 25 years鈥 experience in the property industry in areas of investment; corporate real estate; and consultancy covering the commercial, industrial, retail and residential property across the public and private sectors.
